A delegation led by the Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan is currently on a working visit to the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision of the Russian Federation – Rostekhnadzor.
A meeting was held between Mr. Abduvakkos Rafiqov, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety, and Mr. Aleksandr Trembitskiy, Head of Rostekhnadzor. During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the functions and responsibilities of supervisory authorities in the field of industrial, radiation and nuclear safety, as well as discussed key areas for further bilateral cooperation.
Based on the results of the discussions, the parties agreed to develop a Joint Action Plan for 2025–2026. During the visit, the delegation was also presented with the activities of the Information and Analytical Centre of Rostekhnadzor.
The visit will continue until 13 March 2025. According to the programme, the delegation will visit Rostekhnadzor’s scientific and technical support organisations – FBU “NTS YARB” and JSC “VO ‘Bezopasnost’”, as well as take part in a technical tour to the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant.
For reference: Cooperation is being carried out within the framework of the agreement between the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision of the Russian Federation and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Industrial Safety on regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
